ELGA is delighted to announce the launch of three new fully-localized online shops, providing customers with access to solutions of water purification systems, consumables and accessories.

ELGA LabWater is delighted to announce the launch of the New Italian language website.

75 years ago ELGA launched its first deionisers. Since then, ELGA has changed water purification with its introduction of innovative, award winning ultra-pure water systems.

The installation of the new MEDICA equipment by ELGA Process Water was achieved with minimum disruption to the pathology staff and users of its services.

Tameside has noticed a more rapid throughput of samples with the new analyzers, and has also gained increased bench space from the floor standing water systems.

The maintenance has also been greatly reduced, generating a saving of approximately 2 hours per day of biomedical scientist time.

Clinical grade water is clearly essential in a clinical laboratory and the trend is certainly towards higher purity requirements to meet the range of analyses carried out. Poor water quality not only affects the tests themselves directly but also impacts on all aspects of analyzer operation. Good water purification design, especially providing recirculation through the key purification technologies, is the key to effective and long-term bacterial control, which is the most challenging aspect of water purification. This approach, combined with duplex operation and good support will provide the water needed.

Purified and ultrapure water are essential requirements in most laboratories, where high purity water is typically used for reagent and standards preparation, as an eluent for certain analytical procedures or for washing laboratory glassware. EDI technology has existed for many years and is seen as a key component of future water purification systems. This article discusses the technology, how it has developed over time, and why its use is advantageous for the production of high purity water.
